The Horizontal Integration Facility was built in 2011 on Wallops Island as a place to bring the stages of rocket together in preparation for launch. This week, the team mated the Cygnus cargo spacecraft to the Antares rocket. Cygnus and Antares will travel together from the HIF to the launch pad on May 17! | NASA's Wallops Flight Facility

And they're off! U.S. Navy Blue Angels #7 and his media passenger took to the skies today in the first flight ahead of the OC Air Show. The aircraft in the show will depart and land using the runways at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. The rest of the team is scheduled to arrive later today! Welcome to Wallops, U.S. AirForce Thunderbirds! Despite some low cloud coverage, the team was able to safely land their F-16 aircraft at Wallops in preparation for the upcoming OC Air Show. More performers will be arriving throughout the week! The Thunderbirds will be out practicing Friday afternoon and performing June 16-17.
